Do You Recognize Any of These Symptoms?
If you've experienced any of these symptoms, you may have gallstones and need an evaluation:
Pain Below the Right Rib After Eating
especially after fatty foods, dairy, avocado, or fried foods.
Pain in the Upper Abdomen
which can be mistaken for gastritis but doesn't improve with antacids.
Nausea and Bloating
Nausea and bloating after eating.
Episodes of Intense Pain
that last minutes or hours and then go away, but keep coming back.
What Is a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy?
Gallbladder surgery, known as a cholecystectomy, is the procedure used to remove the gallbladder when it contains stones (gallstones) that cause pain or complications.
The gallbladder is a small organ that stores bile to help digest fats. When stones form inside it, they can cause intense pain, inflammation, and even serious complications such as pancreatitis or infection if not treated in time.
The good news is that your body can function perfectly well without the gallbladder. The liver continues to produce bile and sends it directly to the intestine. Most patients notice no change in their digestion after surgery.

How Do I Perform Gallbladder Surgery?
I perform the cholecystectomy laparoscopically, the most advanced and safest technique available. Here's how it works:
Preparation
Before surgery, I request lab tests and an abdominal ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis and plan the procedure. Everything is coordinated directly with me, with no middlemen.

Surgery
I make 3 to 4 very small incisions (less than 1 centimeter) in your abdomen. Through them, I insert a high-definition camera and specialized instruments that allow me to remove the gallbladder with precision and safety. The procedure takes 45 to 60 minutes under general anesthesia.

Después de la cirugía
La mayoría de mis pacientes se van a casa el mismo día de la operación. El dolor es mínimo y se controla con medicamento oral. Las incisiones son tan pequeñas que las cicatrices son prácticamente invisibles.
Recovery
Most patients return to their normal activities within 5 to 7 days. Intense physical activity can be resumed 2 to 3 weeks later.

Do you live in California or the United States?
Many of my patients cross the border from San Diego, Los Angeles, and other California cities to have surgery in Tijuana. These are the advantages:
Prime location: My office is in NewCity Medical Plaza, just 15 minutes from the San Ysidro border crossing.
Hotel connected to the hospital: You don't need to look for somewhere to stay. The hotel is located within the same medical complex.
Pre-surgery video consultation: We can have your first consultation via video call so you only have to travel on the day of surgery.
No waiting lists: While in the United States you can wait weeks or months for surgery, here we can schedule you in one day.
Significant savings: The cost of surgery in Tijuana is considerably lower than in hospitals in the United States, with the same quality and technology.
Bilingual communication: I speak Spanish and English, so communication will not be a problem.

Frequently asked questions
Does the surgery hurt?
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, so you won't feel a thing during the operation. Afterward, the pain is mild and easily managed with oral medication. Most of my patients tell me the pain was much less than they expected.
How long does the surgery take?
Generally, the surgery lasts between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on each specific case.
Can I eat normally afterwards?
Yes. For the first 2 to 3 weeks, I ask that you follow a low-fat diet while your body adjusts. After that period, the vast majority of patients can eat anything without any problem.
What happens if I don't have the surgery?
Gallstones do not dissolve on their own or disappear with medication or home remedies. If left untreated, they can cause serious complications such as acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), cholecystitis (gallbladder infection), or jaundice (blockage of the bile ducts). These complications may require more complex and riskier emergency surgery.
Are there any large scars left?
No. The incisions are less than 1 centimeter. Over time, they become virtually invisible. This is a major advantage over traditional open surgery, which leaves a 10-15 centimeter scar.
Do we accept health insurance?
We only work with Mexican insurance companies, but the prices are very affordable.
How much does gallbladder surgery cost?
The cost varies depending on each individual case, the necessary tests, and the hospital where the procedure is performed. I invite you to contact me for a personalized quote after evaluating your case.
What I can tell you is that my packages include surgeon's fees, anesthesiologist's fees, hospitalization, medications, and postoperative follow-up.
Can I have surgery if I come from the United States?
Absolutely. Many of my patients travel from California and other parts of the US. I offer a pre-operative video consultation so you only need to travel on the day of your surgery. My office is 15 minutes from the San Diego border, and the hotel is connected to the hospital.
Ready to solve your gallbladder stones?
Don't let pain continue to control your life. Schedule an evaluation directly with me, and I'll explain your case clearly and honestly.
